Interment will follow in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Visitation Friday, August, 14, 6-9 PM at Young's Funeral Home. 442-2388 PETERSON Ronald Beloved son, husband, father and grandfather died Tuesday, August 11, 1998 at Morton Plant Hospital. A loving and devoted family man, Mr. Peterson is survived by his mother, Doris of Morris, his wife, Suzanne; brother, Norman of Reno sons, Kevin of Reno, and John of Rochester, daughters, Diane Melton of Reno, Lauren and Allison of Largo and eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Kevin, Spencer, Rebecca, Emma, Annie, Kaitlin and Jenna.

He is preceded in death by his father, Earl W. Peterson. Mr. Peterson was born Nov. 2, 1938 in Morris, IL.

Growing up on a family farm, he learned the value of hard work which became the foundation for his lifelong committment to family and community service. Upon graduating from High school in Morris, he went on to receive his BA cum laude from Wheaton College (1961) and his MBA from the University of Chicago, (1970). During Mr. Peterson's distinguished career, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Jewel Food Stores (Chicago) and Senior Vice President and member of O.C.E.O. of Eckerd Drug Company.

In 1988 he received the Rex Award as Merchandiser of the Year for the Chain Drug Industry. Most recently, Mr. Peterson was owner and CEO of Florida Forest Products. Over the course of his lifetime, Mr. Peterson made a substantial contribution to his community, both in Illinois and Florida.

He served on the board of trustees at Tampa Preparatory School, Saint Paul's School and College of St. Francis, Joliet, IL. He also served on the board of Morton Plant Health Care System. Central DuPage Hospital, Gateway Foundation Drug Rehabilitation Center, United Way and Citizens for Healthy Pinellas County. An avid golfer, Mr.

Peterson maintained membership at Chicago GolfClub, Belleair Country Club and the Bayou Club where he was a member of the Founding Board of Governors. (reg sig). A vital part of the community, a devoted member of his family, Ron Peterson will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
